Scope of this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used when you visit the website published under the koysan.com.tr domain (the "Site"). It is issued by Köysan® Marine Gearboxes ("Köysan") in its capacity as data controller.

The Site uses no cookies whatsoever for tracking visitor behaviour, building profiles, serving targeted advertising or measuring traffic. The only non-essential element is the Google Maps frame embedded in the contact section, and that content is not loaded unless you consent to it. The sections below set out exactly what the Site stores in your browser and which third-party content is loaded.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves to your device through your browser. Each time you access the Site, the browser sends this file back to the relevant server.

Local storage is a storage area provided by your browser that can serve a similar purpose. Unlike a cookie, its contents are not automatically transmitted to a server with every request and remain inside your browser.

Because data protection law treats every method of storing data on, or gaining access to data in, your terminal equipment within the same framework, both technologies are covered together in this policy.

Technologies used by the Site itself

The Site sets no cookies of its own. It uses only the two local storage entries below:

Both entries hold nothing but a short code: the first tr, en, fr or ar; the second granted or denied. They contain no data that identifies you or makes you identifiable, are never sent to any server, and are never shared with third parties.

If you wish to remove them, simply clear the site data in your browser. The Site continues to work; only your language preference is no longer remembered and the consent banner appears again.

Third-party content

To perform its function, the Site loads content from two external sources. When this content loads, the provider necessarily learns your IP address together with your browser and operating system details, as a technical requirement of serving the request.

Google Fonts

The Site's typefaces are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google processes your IP address in order to deliver the font files to your browser. Google Fonts does not set cookies in your browser for the purpose of serving fonts.

Google Maps

The contact section contains an embedded Google Maps frame showing the location of our production facility. This is the only non-essential third-party content on the Site.

The map is not loaded unless you consent.The frame's address (src) is never handed to the browser, so no request reaches Google, your IP address is not transmitted, and no Google cookie is created. You see an information card in place of the map.

Once you consent, the map loads and Google may place its own cookies and local storage entries in your browser. Those entries are used by Google for purposes it determines itself; Köysan cannot access their contents and has no control over them. If you declined, the map stays off. Should you nevertheless want to see it at that moment, the information card in place of the map offers a "Load map" button; this applies to that page view only and does not change your stored preference. Our address is also available as text on the same page.

Links that lead away from the Site

The WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook links on the Site are plain hyperlinks. No tracking pixel, software development kit (SDK) or widget belonging to those platforms is embedded in the Site; no data is transmitted to them unless you click the link.

Once you click, you have left the Site and that platform's own cookie and privacy policies apply.

Technologies that are not used

None of the following are present on the Site:

Visitor analytics or traffic measurement tools
Advertising, remarketing or conversion tracking pixels
Social media tracking pixels
Heatmap, session recording or A/B testing tools
Profiling, behavioural targeting or device fingerprinting techniques
Any marketing integration that relies on sharing data with third parties

Quotation and contact form

The quotation form on the Site does not transmit the details you enter to any server. When you submit it, a draft e-mail prepared from your entries opens in the e-mail application on your own device. Whether the message is actually sent remains entirely under your control. If you do send it, the details reach info@koysan.com.tr and are processed solely in order to respond to your request.

Because of this design, the form uses no cookies and no local storage entries.

How to manage your preferences

On your first visit, a consent banner appears at the bottom of the Site asking whether you accept the map cookies. Declining is as easy as accepting: both options sit in the same banner with equal prominence. Until you decide, the map does not load.

You may change your decision at any time: the "Change preference" button at the bottom of this page reopens the banner. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

Browser settings

You can view, delete or entirely block cookies and local storage entries through your browser settings. The relevant options are usually found under:

Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage website data
Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Blocking third-party cookies does not affect the text, images or product content of the Site; it may only prevent the embedded map from being displayed.

Legal basis

koysan_lang and koysan_consent, the first-party entries the Site uses, are strictly necessary in order to provide the service you have requested and to retain your preference. Under Turkish Electronic Communications Law No. 5809 and Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), explicit consent is not required for strictly necessary entries of this kind. The koysan_consent entry itself exists as the record of your decision regarding consent.

The embedded Google Maps content — the only non-essential element — is loaded solely with your explicit consent. No network request is made for that content before consent is given. For visitors accessing the Site from the European Union and the European Economic Area, this practice falls within the scope of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive; you may withdraw your consent at any time as described above.

Changes to this policy

This policy is updated whenever the Site's technical infrastructure or the third-party services it uses change. The version in force is always published on this page; the date shown at the top of the page indicates when it was last updated.
